You can take these opportunities to throw Bomb Fruits into the Obsidian Frox’s mouth. Obsidian Frox are incredibly greedy beasts, and a few of its moves involve it trying to eat you. The next best way to take down an Obsidian Frox is to use its own moves against it. So if you’ve accidentally used all your arrows spreading Brightbloom Seeds throughout the Depths, you can still go up against an Obsidian Frox and win. Your main mission is to climb onto the beasts back, and there are other ways to do so without your bow and arrows. ![]() While the above strategy is the easiest way to take down an Obsidian Frox and can allow you to complete the battle without taking any damage, it is not the only way to achieve victory in a fight against an Obsidian Frox. Once all of the ore deposits are destroyed, so is the beast. There are quite a few ore deposits on an Obsidian Frox, so you will have to mount it several times to smash all of them. Repeat this process a couple of times, and victory will be yours. Then you can simply glide back onto its back and continue destroying the ore deposits. Equip your bow to make time slow down and hit it in the eye with an arrow once again. When it does, pull out your glider and soar around to the front of the beast. The Obsidian Frox will buck you off its back eventually. Once you hit its eye with an arrow, the Obsidian Frox will fall to the ground for a moment, allowing you to climb onto its back and start destroying the ore deposits you will find there. So if you have any of them in your inventory, feel free to use them. It is immune to attacks anywhere else on its body, but it does have one other weak point: its eye.įusing a Keese eye to your arrow makes it much easier to hit the Obsidian Frox directly in the eye. To defeat an Obsidian Frox, you have to climb onto its back and destroy each of the ore deposits that you will find there. Thankfully, you can use this to your advantage during battle. Unfortunately, instead of preferring to eat Brightbloom Seeds, the Obsidian Frox prefers to eat you. Obsidian Frox are much larger than the regular Frox you come across in the Depths, but they are just as greedy. Elixirs or food made with Dark Clumps make you resistant to Gloom damage in the first place, so consider bringing some with you whenever you’re traveling throughout the Depths. You can’t restore them unless you visit a Lightroot, return to the surface, or consume meals or elixirs made with Sundelions. Gloom damage saps your health and renders your hearts useless.
